The last big section of Yellowstone National Park we visited was the Lamar Valley area.
We had been told it was a good place to spot bears and it was. We saw two black bears near the road, and just missed seeing a mother grizzly with her cub. The park was not crowded at all, but if a bear got spotted you would soon have ten or twelve cars pulled over and snapping pictures.
We also saw bull elk, many more buffalo, deer, pronghorn, and much more. Here are some pics that include the first black bear and a couple of the bull elk.
